If you missed it, YOU MISSED IT!
Standing Rocks is the little enduro that could. After a few years of putting in multiple “race only” lines to create a more technical enduro. The crew were allowed to put in permanent technical lines. We knew they were putting in work, but they PUT, IN, WORK!!
Multiple brand new trails, big drops, berms, tech and more. We couldn’t believe how much had changed in such a short amount of time!
It pretty much felt like an entirely different set of trails from 2025. The Standing Rocks trails were fun before, but now they are a blast!
Rain on Friday really helped set up the generally sandy trails, creating amazing conditions for the race on Sunday!
There were multiple category options for riders to choose from. The Youth category did 3 stages in the morning and 1 in the afternoon. Sport racers did all 4 morning stages and 2 of the afternoon stages. Then the Expert category did 4 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon.
Racing kicked off at 10am and riders quickly scattered to the morning stages. The morning had a lot of the more original stages in them.
Make Fun Please, Vigilante, Local DH, RoB Resurrected were the morning four. All of which were raced last year. They were a great way to start off the day!
As the timing systems were moved to the afternoon stages, riders had access to a local food truck for some lunch!
After a little rest and refueling, riders headed back out for the afternoon set of stages.
Gadzoom Combo, Hextables, Mad Hatter and Smaug!
Hextables was probably the most talked about stage of the weekend. Although this stage had been raced in the past, it had been given a major facelift! The drop from years past had been magnified tenfold. Built up with some beautiful rock work with a nice landing. They also added in some “moto whoops” and more features throughout the trail. It was fast and a heck of a lot of fun!!
Smaug was the trail they used to give out an SR Suntour Durolux38 fork to the fastest rider! One of the new trails. Smaug had a jump into a rock garden up towards the top. A little bit of a climb in the middle, then a drop towards the end. A good mix of everything! Alex Anderson was able to take the win on this stage and go home with the fork!
Gadzoom Combo was a slight switch up from last year. Bringing riders down a more direct path with more off camber, flat style corners. Before coming to the jumps at the bottom. Many riders couldn’t decide if the jumps or the go around was the faster option at the bottom of this trail. If you raced, which did you think was faster?
Overall the trails were super fun. The weather for the day couldn’t have been much better. And riders enjoyed a great day of racing!
In the end the local ripper, Alex Beach took home the win! He was one of the many volunteers that put in a ton of time building the new sections of trails and putting on the race. And he threw down some great times on the day! Nathan Zinzow and Rhys Valerius rounded out the men’s podium.
For the women, Leia Schneeberger took the win! With Harper Zinzow and Christy Hammerstrom rounding out the top three!!
This was their fourth year putting on this race, and it does not disappoint! If you have the ability to make it to this race next year. You certainly should!!
